They are constructed of a polyurethane foam, which means they have no edges or hard shell to cause discomfort. They go above and beyond the requirements for CE certification and protect from impact dynamically. What this means, is that the air cells inside the material react quickly to an impact, making the Sas-Tec elbow and knee protector more resistant when and where the motorcycle rider requires it. But when you are just wearing them normally, the polyurethane foam remains flexible and comfortable.
